Big Beaver Tavern

Overview

When the Big Beaver Tavern opened its doors in the summer of 2009, it brought with it the reputation for great service, which it earned serving the Detroit Metro Area for nearly 20 years. Formerly known as Larco's Italian Chophouse, the Tavern was born out of a desire to change with the economic times and to find a way to open the doors for more people to try their food than ever before.

Focusing on quality, fourth generation chef Peter Larco experimented with his new menu until he got it just right, creating a list a sandwiches and entrees that would embrace the restaurant's new direction gearing towards Italian and American comfort food, while at the same time highlighting a few favorite dishes from Larco's Italian Chophouse.

The Old School Burger is the star of the new menu, a 1/2lb. Angus Chuck burger cooked the way you like it and served with our signature Fancy Sauce. It is considered by some to be the Best burger in Oakland County. Add a side of french fries or onion rings to seal the deal. Meanwhile, not to be forgotten, Larco's old favorites still grace the menu like Filet Mignon with the Original Zip sauce, and Spaghetti Bolognese, a classic Italian, hearty all meat ragu, topped with baked mozzarella. And for dessert, they offer items like Creme Brulee (Vanilla bean custard with caramelized sugar), their Chocolate Bomb, a delicious slice of Carrot Cake, and of course, their classic Tiramisu, all of which are prepared in-house.

The atmosphere at the Big Beaver Tavern is casual, fun and comfortable however you're dressed, whether you're stopping in for drinks and a quick bite to eat, or for a couple of beers while checking the local sports scores on their numerous wide-screen televisions, or simply looking for a great meal that the whole family will enjoy. The staff is attentive, the service is outstanding, and quite simply, this is a great place to eat.

Poker Room
